The Story
A beautiful pair of hanging earrings from the Victorian (ca1877) era! Each of these exquisite earrings is made of 15kt rosy yellow gold (indicating English origin) and is comprised of a decorative gold hoop that hangs from an open triangular surmount. The front surface of the surmount is decorated with a swirled hand-etched design, and the hoops are adorned with a raised stud and leaf accents. Dangling from the triangle are three small urn-shaped spears, which give the piece lovely movement when worn. Very lightweight and comfortable to wear, these gorgeous earrings hang from clasped gold earring wires detailed with small 3-leaf clover toppers. Engraved inside each earring is the inscription "L.H. from L.M., Mar. 2 - '77". Perfect for everyday wear, they would make a special addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 1 3/8" long, is 5/8" at the widest point, and 1/2" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or etched detail. The earring wires are secure and in good working condition.
