A cartouche is an elongated oval shape crossed by a horizontal line, used in ancient Egypt to enclose a royal name as a form of protection or amulet.
A sentimental Egyptian cartouche pendant from the Vintage (ca1970s) era! Crafted in sterling silver, this oval-shaped pendant features Egyptian hieroglyphs which translate to "I love you". The hieroglyphic characters are decorated with intricate engravings, and the top of the piece features a complimentary bail, which would allow the piece to easily attach to a favorite chain. The backside of the piece features two, small Egyptian hallmarks. A romantic piece, this cartouche pendant would make a fantastic gift for any loved one!
